Aluminum Fluoride (AlF3) is an odorless, white or colorless powder. AlF3 is used in primary aluminum production. It reduces energy consumption by lowering the bath operating temperature therefore enabling significant energy savings for smelters.
High Bulk Density (HBD) AlF3 is the dominating form of AlF3 globally. Most of the smelters around the world have the dosing set up for HBD AlF3.
For over 50 years our process for the manufacture of aluminum fluoride from aluminum tri-hydrate and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride has been continuously improved and sold to clients around the world. With plant capacities in the range 15,000-75,000 MTPY in one single process line, this technology provides a high yield of aluminum fluoride with low raw material consumption, and high plant availability of 320-330 operating days per year.
