Hydrocarbon Resin Event Considered “A Milestone of the Resin Market in China”

Buss ChemTech, along with its Chinese representatives and personnel from BASF’s catalyst group, hosted over two dozen participants at the Qingdao Hilton for a hydrocarbon resin hydrogenation and catalyst technology seminar. These participants represented virtually all of the players in the Chinese hydrocarbon resin market. Held late last month, this comprehensive seminar covered the entire production process including polymerization of the relevant feedstocks, resin hydrogenation and solvent recovery. Special topics included continuous resin hydrogenation technology in the Buss Loop® Reactor and the proper selection of catalyst for resin hydrogenation presented by BASF.

The feedback from the participants was unanimously positive. Frequently mentioned was the focus on “real topics” with “no time lost on pure marketing aspects.”  Especially appreciated was the high level of the technical content which was “much more than in usual conferences in China.” Most all described the seminar as a unique event in China and considered it a true milestone for the industry.

The main speakers at the seminar were Dr. Mohammed Dekiouk (Technology Manager – Polymers) and Mr. Gianluca Premoli (Area Sales Manager) of Buss ChemTech and Mr. Haitao Feng (Technology Manager) of BASF. Buss ChemTech’s representatives in China, Shanghai DiYang Chemical Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd., acted as local hosts, provide translation and organized the well-run event. Their team was led by Mr. Dennis Pan (General Manager) and Mr. Bennett Wu (Technical Manager).
